Why convert HEIC to JPG?
iPhones save photos in HEIC format to halve their size, but plenty of software still refuses to open it: older Windows versions, many upload forms, office tools and printing services all expect JPG. Converting gives you a file that works everywhere.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using a WebAssembly build of libheif, the open-source HEIC decoder. Your photos never leave your device.
Why does my iPhone save photos as HEIC?
Since iOS 11, iPhones use HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) by default because it stores photos at about half the size of JPEG. The trade-off is that many websites, Windows apps and older tools cannot open it.
Will converting to JPG lose quality?
JPG is a lossy format, but at the default quality of 85 the difference is invisible for normal photos. You can raise the quality slider to 95+ for archival copies.
Can I convert many photos at once?
Yes — select or drop as many HEIC files as you like. Each one is converted on your device and gets its own download link.
Does this work with Live Photos or bursts?
The still image inside a Live Photo converts fine. The video part is not included — it is a separate file on your iPhone.
